About this role

Overview Exponent is hiring registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants as subject matter experts for a healthcare technology client. You will evaluate clinical workflows in a simulated EHR environment and document where the environment differs from real-world practice. This is a remote, part-time, contract engagement. No patient care and no protected health information are involved. Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned clinical workflows in a simulated EHR environment: nursing documentation and flowsheets, medication administration, order entry and results review, handoffs, care plans, admissions, transfers, and discharge
  • Identify steps that fail, behave differently from the production system, or are missing
  • Document findings in structured forms and short written notes
  • Attend a remote onboarding session and periodic check-ins

  • Active RN, NP, APRN, or PA-C license
  • 5+ years of clinical practice
  • 3+ years of daily, hands-on use of at least one of: Epic (inpatient or outpatient), Epic Hyperspace, Oracle Cerner (Millennium / PowerChart), MEDITECH Expanse, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, CoverMyMeds
  • Currently practicing, or left practice within the past two years
  • Clear written communication
  • Case management and discharge planning experience in MEDITECH or Epic is a plus

Engagement details

  • Location: Remote, United States
  • Type: 1099 independent contractor
  • Hours: approximately 10 per week during active weeks, self-scheduled
  • Duration: approximately 4 weeks of work over 5 to 6 calendar weeks, with alternating active and inactive weeks; extension possible based on performance
  • Start: week of September 14, 2026
  • Equipment: your own computer and internet connection; browser-based, nothing to install

Compensation $90 to $132 per hour, determined by role, years of experience, and assigned system. Confirmed during screening.
