Tired of the Same Old Nursing Shift?

Maybe it's time for a different kind of nursing.

Southern Health Partners is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at the Cullman County Jail.

This isn't your typical hospital floor. You'll provide meaningful patient care in a structured, secure environment where your clinical judgment, compassion, and nursing skills truly matter.

And because great nurses deserve to be recognized for making a commitment, Sign-On and Retention Bonus opportunities are available for this position.

What You'll Do

As part of our correctional healthcare team, you'll provide hands-on care to patients while working alongside dedicated healthcare professionals.

Your responsibilities may include

  • Performing nursing assessments and monitoring patient conditions
  • Administering medications and treatments within your scope of practice
  • Responding to urgent and emergent medical needs
  • Recognizing changes in patient condition and communicating concerns appropriately
  • Providing patient education and supporting continuity of care
  • Maintaining accurate and timely electronic medical records
  • Following established clinical protocols and standards of care
  • Collaborating with nurses, providers, and correctional staff
  • Maintaining a professional, compassionate approach to patient care
  • Helping create a safe and therapeutic healthcare environment
  • What We're Looking For

For RN Candidates

  • Current, unrestricted Alabama RN license
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

For LPN Candidates

  • Current, unrestricted Alabama LPN license
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

For All Candidates

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional, dependable, and compassionate approach to patient care
  • Previous nursing experience preferred
  • Correctional healthcare experience is a plus, but not required
  • Your Night Shift

6:00 PM to 6:30 AM 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule

If you're looking for a structured schedule and a nursing environment that feels different from the constant churn of a hospital, this could be your next move.

Why Correctional Nursing?

Let's be honest. Nursing can be exhausting.

The call lights. The constant admissions. The endless turnover. The floating. The feeling that you're racing the clock instead of caring for the person in front of you.

Correctional healthcare gives you a chance to step into a different kind of clinical environment.

No rotating hospital units. No mandatory floating. One facility. One team.

You'll still use your clinical judgment. You'll still face challenging patient needs. You'll still make a difference.

But you'll do it in a safe, secure, structured environment with a healthcare team focused on providing quality care.

New to Correctional Healthcare?

That's okay.

You don't need correctional experience to be successful here. Southern Health Partners provides training and support to help you bring the nursing skills you already have into a new healthcare setting.

Your Next Chapter in Nursing Starts Here.

You didn't become a nurse to spend every shift simply trying to keep up.

You became a nurse to care for people.

At Southern Health Partners, you'll have the opportunity to do exactly that while serving an underserved population and building meaningful experience in correctional healthcare.

Bring your skills. Bring your compassion. Bring your clinical judgment.

We'll give you a different place to put them to work.
