About this role
We are seeking a dependable, clinically adept Certified Medical Assistant to join a growing physician-owned family medicine practice.
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys working in a small, fast-moving outpatient environment and is comfortable adapting as clinic workflows continue to evolve and expand. This is a long-term role with opportunity for growth within a small private practice.
We are looking for a proactive MA who takes ownership of their role, communicates well, and thrives in a highly collaborative one-on-one provider setting.
This is not an entry-level position although on the job training will be provided. We are seeking an outpatient MA with foundational clinical skills who is adaptable, coachable, and comfortable managing both clinical and operational responsibilities within a growing practice.

Position Details
- 28–32 hours/week
- Clinic hours: 9:00am–4:00pm Mon-Fri (closed for lunch)
- No evenings, weekends, or hospital work
- $25–28/hour depending on experience
- Retention bonus available at 6 months
What This Role Involves
You will work primarily alongside one family medicine physician in a small private practice environment where flexibility, reliability, and initiative are essential. Responsibilities and workflows may continue to expand as the practice grows.

Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain accurate vitals
- Prepare patients for evaluation and treatment
- Assist with exams and in-office procedures
- Administer routine medications/injections per protocol
- Perform EKGs, specimen handling, medication reconciliation, and other standard clinical MA duties
- Document accurately and efficiently in the EHR
- Assist with chart preparation, refill workflows, prior authorizations, referrals, and general clinic flow
- Support front and back office operations as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, professional clinical environment
- Assist in a practice that includes Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT)
Required Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA) required
- Minimum 6 months to 1 year hands-on outpatient MA experience required
- Family medicine or primary care experience strongly preferred
- New graduates without outpatient clinical experience will not be considered
- CNA-only, administrative-only, or externship-only experience is not sufficient
- Strong computer and EHR skills required
- Athenahealth experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and strong communication skills
- Ability to manage responsibilities independently and adapt within a growing practice environment
