Certified Medical Assistant

Position Details

• 28–32 hours/week
• Clinic hours: 9:00am–4:00pm Mon-Fri (closed for lunch)
• No evenings, weekends, or hospital work
• $25–28/hour depending on experience
• Retention bonus available at 6 months

What This Role Involves

You will work primarily alongside one family medicine physician in a small private practice environment where flexibility, reliability, and initiative are essential. Responsibilities and workflows may continue to expand as the practice grows.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain accurate vitals
• Prepare patients for evaluation and treatment
• Assist with exams and in-office procedures
• Administer routine medications/injections per protocol
• Perform EKGs, specimen handling, medication reconciliation, and other standard clinical MA duties
• Document accurately and efficiently in the EHR
• Assist with chart preparation, refill workflows, prior authorizations, referrals, and general clinic flow
• Support front and back office operations as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, professional clinical environment
• Assist in a practice that includes Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT)

Required Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification (CMA) required
• Minimum 6 months to 1 year hands-on outpatient MA experience required
• Family medicine or primary care experience strongly preferred
• New graduates without outpatient clinical experience will not be considered
• CNA-only, administrative-only, or externship-only experience is not sufficient
• Strong computer and EHR skills required
• Athenahealth experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and strong communication skills
• Ability to manage responsibilities independently and adapt within a growing practice environment

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 28.0 – 32.0 per week
