\* Is a graduate of an accredited school of registered or licensed practical nursing and has an active license in good standing.
The duties and responsibilities of the RN- Nursing Supervisor include but are not limited to:
- Makes rounds in the nursing center at least twice during the shift and in the dining room during meals noting condition of residents, nursing practice, and environmental and safety conditions, addresses any deficiencies noted.
- Supervises nursing staff for the nursing center and any other personnel involved with the health care residents in the absence of the Director of Nursing (DON) or when designated to ensure resident needs, applicable polices and procedures and regulatory requirements are met.
- Acts on behalf of DON in his/her absence or when designated
- Takes vitals and assesses any resident who is admitted, going out to hospital, or experiencing an acute issue. Reviews 24 hour report and follows up on resident incidents.
- Reviews daily new order logs, nurse aid communication notebook, wound assessments, fall assessments, 24 hour report, incident reports, care plan assignment reports, and attend change of shift reports to assess residents care needs and staff performance.
- Oversees and implements staff development programs
- Assists the staff with providing direct resident care as needed and emergency service to residents.
- Supervises the communities system of medication administration.
- Participates with the interdisciplinary care team in coordination with all resident services.
- Observes and protects residents' rights including confidentiality, privacy and dignity.
- Coordinates with nursing staff physician visits, health screening of staff, special diet and try service requests, overnight visitations, sign out by residents, OT/PT/ST or other visits, health programming, and classes.
- Supervises and serves as a resource person for nursing services
