Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to provide PRN coverage at our ambulatory surgery center. We currently have an immediate need for an experienced RNFA to cover a surgical case on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with surgeons and the surgical team to provide exceptional patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. Your expertise in surgical techniques, sterile procedures, and patient management will directly contribute to delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care in a fast-paced hospital environment. Duties

  • Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, by providing peri operative support and maintaining aseptic conditions.
  • Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all necessary surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile, functional, and ready for use.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and physiological parameters throughout procedures, ensuring stability and safety at all times.
  • Support discharge planning by collaborating with team to coordinate post-operative care and patient education.
  • Experience in an ambulatory surgery center, pain management, orthopedic, spine, or other procedural setting is a plus.
  • Uphold patient safety protocols by adhering to infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection prevention measures.

Requirements

  • Valid RN license with current registration; certification as a First Assistant (RNFA) is required or must be obtained prior to employment.
  • Experience in an ambulatory surgery center, pain management, orthopedic, spine, or other procedural setting is a plus.
  • Strong suturing skills and hands-on suture experience REQUIRED.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and critical care principles related to acute care environment.
  • Excellent analysis skills for assessing patient needs quickly and accurately during procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus on patient safety and surgery center protocols.

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
