Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients during the shift; provide nursing care based on the nursing process and aligned with the medical plan of care, incorporating input from the patient and significant others.
- Collaborate with physicians and other members of the health care team; coordinate delivery of patient care to patients of any age (as assigned to the unit) and across care settings.
- Incorporate teaching and discharge planning needs into the overall plan of care, ensuring patient and family understanding and involvement.
- Delegate certain aspects of patient care to other nursing staff based on current clinical competence and legal scope of practice; supervise and communicate clearly with the care team.
- Ensure adherence to standards of practice and patient safety throughout the shift, contributing to a positive, collaborative care environment.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license (California) or eligibility to practice in California
- RN degree from an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN)
- Relevant nursing experience in perioperative or acute care settings preferred
- Ability to work the listed shift schedule and support a 40-hour work week
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate with a diverse care team
