Nurse Tech

Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture, and functions appropriately in clinical emergencies. Participates in practice changes from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives. Evaluates patients' developmental level, identifies increased physical/emotional dependency needs, and assesses the availability of support systems.

Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must demonstrate ability and understanding of the age-specific care requirements of geriatric, adult, adolescent, and pediatric patient populations, including appropriate selection of patient equipment, communication, and safety needs. Requires close attention and mental effort in executing multiple assigned duties, such as recording blood pressures, input & output (I & O), obtaining and documenting blood glucose monitor results, and distributing and collecting dietary trays.

Ability to float between assignments and adapt to varying healthcare settings. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance with all safety and infection control policies to prevent injury to patients, employees, or self.

Education

High School Grad or Equiv [Required] Field of Study: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing program and has completed the first semester of Nursing Fundamentals OR has completed an accredited nursing program within one (1) year and has not obtained their license for Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
