About this role
The RN Transfer Specialist coordinates in-bound transfers/direct admits from primary care providers offices, free standing emergency clinics (Urgent Care) and patients from regional community hospitals who require a higher level of care according to established policies. The RN Transfer Specialist facilitates activation of the STEMI protocol. Is a professional member of VOICE professional nursing shared governance providing feedback on issues being addressed at meetings.
Participates as a member on VOICE councils and Nursing Quality Teams as appropriate. Actively participates on Unit Council helping with plans to improve NDNQI nursing sensitive indicators, RN Satisfaction, Employee Engagement, Culture of Safety, and Patient Experience data. Works together with other care team members to recruit and retain an excellent nursing care team.

Requirements
- Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia
- Associates Degree in Nursing
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in direct patient care and/or case management
- Excellent observation skills and problem solving ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with computers and computer software
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills including professionalism, a team player, and a positive approach to situations
- Working knowledge of medical necessity criteria and application of admission criteria
