Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients admitted with medical oncology conditions.
- Assess patient needs, develop an individualized plan of care with the interdisciplinary team, implement interventions, and evaluate patient response.
- Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions; ensure patient safety and infection prevention.
- Educate patients and families, support discharge planning, and provide self-care instructions for post-hospital recovery.
- Document care, education, and patient response; participate in quality improvement activities and ongoing professional development.
- Foster a healing environment, collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other team members to optimize patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Active NYS Registered Nurse licensure
Certifications
BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience
- Ability to work in a Med/Surg/Oncology setting with rotating Day/Night/Weekend/Holiday shifts
- Orientation class scheduled for 5/25 (earliest) or 6/08
- Travel assignment eligibility and ability to meet credentialing requirements
