Travel Registered Nurse Oncology Job

• Assignment type: Travel - Temporary
• Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital Med/Surg/Oncology
• Orientation: Class scheduled 5/25 (earliest) or 6/08

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients admitted with medical oncology conditions.
• Assess patient needs, develop an individualized plan of care with the interdisciplinary team, implement interventions, and evaluate patient response.
• Administer medications and monitor for therapeutic effects and adverse reactions; ensure patient safety and infection prevention.
• Educate patients and families, support discharge planning, and provide self-care instructions for post-hospital recovery.
• Document care, education, and patient response; participate in quality improvement activities and ongoing professional development.
• Foster a healing environment, collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other team members to optimize patient outcomes.

Requirements

• Active NYS Registered Nurse licensure

Certifications

BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS

• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience
• Ability to work in a Med/Surg/Oncology setting with rotating Day/Night/Weekend/Holiday shifts
• Orientation class scheduled for 5/25 (earliest) or 6/08
• Travel assignment eligibility and ability to meet credentialing requirements
