Overview
- Performs comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic psychiatric services for patients within the scope of advanced nursing practice. This role focuses on holistic care, combining medication management with evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
*Core Duties & Responsibilities*
- *Clinical Assessment:* Conduct psychiatric evaluations, bio-psychosocial assessments, and physical exams to formulate accurate diagnoses.
- *Medication Management:* Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications; monitor target symptoms and adjust dosages based on clinical response.
- *Patient Counseling:* Provide individual/group therapy and detailed medication education, including risk of drug/alcohol interactions.
- *Documentation:* Maintain precise electronic health records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and written medication fact sheets.
- *Collaboration:* Coordinate care with the clinical team, consult with the supervising psychiatrist, and initiate outside referrals as needed.
- *Compliance:* Sign off on treatment plans and testify in court matters (petitions/affidavits) when legally required.
*Skills & Experience*
- Experience in behavioral health, community health, or primary care preferred.
- Expertise in evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT and self-management).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for family and staff consultation.

- Master’s or Doctorate from an accredited School of Nursing.

Licensure
- Active New Jersey *APN (NP)* license in good standing.

Certification
- Board Certification as a *Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)*.
- *Prescribing Authority:* Valid New Jersey *CDS* and *DEA* registrations.
Pay: $90.00 - $100.00 per hour
