We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Gastroenterology Specialty Clinic. This role is ideal for nurses who are passionate about patient-centered care and interested in specialty nursing.

You’ll assess and triage patient needs, coordinate care, provide education, and support patients throughout their GI care journey. Working alongside experienced gastroenterology providers and a collaborative team, you’ll play an important role in helping patients manage complex conditions and achieve better health outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate incoming patient calls to assess symptoms, determine urgency, and identify appropriate next steps.

• Provide telephone triage and guide patients to the appropriate level of care or follow-up for gastrointestinal concerns.

• Coordinate care for patients with acute or complex GI conditions and symptoms.

• Communicate effectively with gastroenterology providers and the clinical team to ensure timely, appropriate care.

• Educate patients and caregivers on GI conditions, treatments, medications, procedures, and home care.

• Provide ongoing support and resources to help patients manage their gastrointestinal health.

• Accurately document patient interactions, assessments, and care plans in the electronic health record (EHR).

• Track patient needs and coordinate follow-up care to promote continuity and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) – Active/unencumbered RN license in state of practice or compact license including state of practice.

• All levels of RN experience will be considered. Prior experience in gastroenterology or specialty care is a plus, but not required .

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

• For positions within UnityPoint Clinic, team members may be required to work at or float to other locations to support optimized staffing.
