Student Nurse Intern PD

Position Summary Summary: The Student Nurse Intern (SNI) is a trained member of the Nursing Department who performs specific tasks under the direction/supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) preceptor. The SNI understands and complies with the Philosophy, Standards, Objectives and Policies of the Department as well as their respective scope of practice. Qualifications Responsibilities: Education Required • Must complete in-house orientation program • Successful completion of 2 semesters (minimally) of hospital-based clinical practicum while enrolled in an accredited nursing program. • Completion of SNE Orientation and Program OR Designated Support Staff Orientation. Experience And Skills • Excellent interpersonal skills • Speaks, reads and writes English License/Certifications • CPI • BLS required for Emergency Department Student Interns only Working Conditions Other information: Working Conditions • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn • Frequent, prolonged standing/walking. • Lifts, positions and/or transfers patients/equipment.
