Details
Acute care Level 1 trauma hospital setting on a 32-bed CV Telemetry unit
Patient population includes post cath lab, post vascular procedure, and day 2 CABG patients, along with general telemetry patients age 15 and older
Patient ratios of 1:3-4
Charge nurse and clinical supervisor available without a patient assignment
PCT support provided at a ratio of 1 tech per 16 patients
Uses Cerner EMR
Centralized telemetry monitoring, RNs must be able to interpret EKGs
12-hour night shifts, 7pm-7am
Every other weekend required
Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays
First to float among staff, to similar or lower acuity units
No ventilator management, IV team, or dedicated pediatric patients on this unit
Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available 24/7
Hospitalist rounds during the day and is on call overnight

Provide telemetry nursing care for cardiac and post-procedural patients, including titrating down medications such as Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Dobutamine
2 days of floor-specific orientation provided
Navy scrub color required
Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as determined by driver's license address
Candidates who failed the Dysrhythmia exam or sterile technique test on a second attempt are ineligible for 6 months at this facility group
Candidates directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility within this health system in the past year are not eligible; PRN employment through outside staffing firms is acceptable
