About this role
RN Full Time 12 hr night shift position available. This shift requires every other weekend.
The nurse will work directly with the Director of Nursing and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners to ensure evidence-based protocols are followed, administer prescribed treatment, and report on prominent deviations in patients' symptomology. The Nurse must exercise empathy and resilience. The Nurse will be accountable for reinforcing program structure by demonstrating professional behavior and having regular positive interactions that align with Red Top Wellness Center’s ethical standards.

Adheres to HIPAA regulations when communicating with other people and organizations.
Be a part of a professional team to promote and improve mental health and well-being of each patient with open communication and respect for all.
Administering patients' medications and treatments - and monitoring results.
Dealing with the specific symptoms of mental illness, de-escalating stressful situations, and helping patients overcome challenges.
Interacting with patients' families and other care staff - offering advice and information on patients' conditions.
Preparing and maintaining patients records, producing care plans and risk assessments.
- Ensuring that daily medication protocols are followed according to written instructions by the medical staff.
- Initiate emergency resuscitative measures according to adult resuscitation protocols.
Job Responsibilities
- Check patients’ vitals daily as needed or directed.
- Follow up on patients per prescriber orders, maintaining, monitoring, and securing all medications according to facility policies.
- Secure prior authorizations for prescriptions.
- Administer IM injections and keep track of when injections are due
- Completing Nursing Assessments and Nursing Treatment plans daily.
- Completing patient rounds twice per shift to ensure safety.
- Administer client medication daily according to written instructions by the MD or NP.
- Documents all medications administered in EMR system and ensures client signature.
- Responsible for emergency medical interventions and CPR or First Aid when needed.
- Responsible for observation of entry area and guest environment.
- Responsible for ensuring that all guests are cleared before entering the building and kept in the waiting area until they have received a guest badge and guided to their destination.
- Responsible for preparing and maintaining patients’ records.
- Attend monthly meetings with clinical staff and stay up to date with changes within the program.
- Adapt to the needs of the program by demonstrating flexibility/adaptability.
- Maintain a safe environment for customers and co-workers.
- Other duties assigned by supervisor.

Education, Experience, and Additional Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing and an active license recognized by the state of Georgia to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Minimum of 1 (one) year current psychiatric/mental health experience is preferred.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be competent with computers in order to effectively manage the electronic health records system and administrative duties.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Ability to practice nursing with respect for individual, cultural, and spiritual differences and to maintain compassion for people who are struggling with their mental health.
Must submit to a background test
Must submit and pass a drug screen
Knowledge, Abilities and Attitudes Required
- Knowledge of software programs for personal computer use
- Knowledge and experience in working with chemically dependent clients
- Knowledge of different treatment modalities and interventions
- Ability to effectively resolve conflict and cope with crisis situations
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to carry out assigned tasks to completion
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients and staff by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and resolving conflicts
- Ability to plan and organize workload and manage tasks meeting documentation deadlines him/herself
- Ability to maintain professional standards and demeanor, including confidentiality of employee and client data and other sensitive information
- Recognition of the limits of one’s own professional expertise and the willingness to seek supervision and/or support as needed.
- Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to populations served
