About this role

*Job Overview* Join our dynamic mental health clinic as a PRN Infusion Nurse, where your expertise will directly impact patient recovery and well-being. We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient mental health clinic to administer IV ketamine infusions for treatment-resistant depression. This is a very low-frequency, PRN role—approximately 1 shift per month, depending on patient scheduling. Ideal for a stay-at-home parent, semi-retired nurse, or RN looking for occasional supplemental income.

  • Administer intravenous (IV) infusions, medications, and fluids accurately following established protocols and physician orders
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs, physiological responses, and overall condition throughout treatment sessions
  • Educate patients about infusion procedures, potential side effects, and post-treatment care to promote understanding and comfort
  • Maintain medical documentation on paper that will be uploaded to our EHR (electronic health record), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals to develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate infusion therapies
  • Ensure aseptic technique during all procedures to prevent infection and promote patient safety

*Qualifications*

  • Valid RN license in Kentucky with current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Proven experience in infusion therapy, including IV insertion and maintenance, preferably within mental health or outpatient settings
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and pharmacology related to infusion treatments
  • Experience working with mental health patients is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills combined with compassionate patient care approach
  • Ability to work independently in a flexible PRN capacity while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
