- Perform intravenous (IV) insertions and infusions with precision, ensuring patient safety and comfort using aseptic techniques.
- Assess patients’ needs through comprehensive physical examinations and vital signs monitoring to determine appropriate IV therapy plans.
- Manage and troubleshoot infusion devices, including catheters, ensuring optimal functioning throughout treatment.
- Document all procedures accurately within electronic health records (EHR systems), maintaining compliance and medical documentation standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on complex cases involving acute pain management, long covid symptoms , and chronic fatigue.
- Educate patients and their families on IV therapy processes, medication administration, and post-procedure care to promote understanding and adherence.
- Maintain sterile processing protocols and ensure infection control measures are rigorously followed during all procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current registration; experience in IV infusion therapy is essential.
- Demonstrated proficiency in aseptic technique, venipuncture, catheter care, and injection administration.
- Prior experience working with EMR highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and laboratory experience enhances your ability to deliver comprehensive care.
- Critical care experience in settings like ICU, emergency medicine, or trauma centers is advantageous; familiarity with hospital medicine or outpatient clinics is also valued.
- Strong assessment skills for patient care planning across diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal resuscitation procedures, or individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent communication within multidisciplinary teams dedicated to high-quality patient outcomes.
