Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery- Day

Principal duties and

Responsibilities

Assesses and manages laboring woman's physical condition/parameters and progress through the labor and delivery, including significant other in the process. Assesses fetal well-being by means of electronic fetal monitoring and other standard parameters. Immediate stabilization of the neonate. Maternal recovery after delivery (vaginal or cesarean section). Assumes circulating role for vaginal or cesarean section delivery. Initiates parent infant bonding promoting a baby-friendly environment. Assesses learning needs and teaches patient and family.

Full time day shift, 6:30a-7p. May rotate weekends

Licensed as a Registered Nurse accepted by the Texas State Board of Nursing to engage in professional nursing Technical, clerical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills relevant to patient care/area Certification requirements as defined by the certification policy Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring

Preferred

• Labor and Delivery experience
• Bachelors of Nursing degree or progression to this degree
• National Certification as recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center
• Bilingual or Multilingual
