How you’ll make an impact in this role
Perform comprehensive medical history reviews and in-depth health assessments to identify clinical anomalies, ensuring every patient is medically optimized for a safe surgical outcome. Empower patients and families through specialized pre-operative counseling, ensuring a thorough understanding of surgical procedures, preparation protocols, and post-operative recovery plans. Act as a critical liaison between multidisciplinary teams by initiating physician consultations and ordering essential diagnostic testing to streamline the surgical pipeline.
Facilitate seamless transitions by managing surgical timing, discharge logistics, and inpatient planning to maximize unit efficiency and patient satisfaction.
What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
One or more of the following required
Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Education
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.
What Additional Preferences We're Seeking
2 + years of Preadmission Testing RN experience. Experience in conducting endoscopy pre procedure phone calls and post-op calls. Experience in quality chart checking, chart building, updating surgeon orders, and superb organizational skills.
