Responsibilities

  • Prepare the patient and equipment for diagnostic electrophysiology procedures and interventions; ensure sterile field and readiness of catheters, ablation tools, and related devices.
  • Monitor real-time EP readouts during procedures; document data and support interpretation in the electronic medical record (Epic) as directed by the physician.
  • Assist with pacing implementations and device-related procedures (e.g., traditional pacemakers, ICDs, and related therapies); provide backup pacing during implants as needed.
  • Maintain equipment readiness, assist with room turnover, and coordinate with the charge nurse, in-room staff, and third-party vendors to ensure on-time starts and efficient workflow.
  • Support anesthesia and patient monitoring during procedures; assist with moderate sedation and catheter management; familiarity with mapping systems (e.g., Carto, EnSite/Precision, Rhythmia) and EP lab peripherals is helpful.

Requirements

  • Active New York RN license (OLNY)
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
  • Graduation from an approved registered nurse program
  • Proficiency in moderate sedation; ability to support EP procedures and coordinate with physicians and EP team
