Responsibilities

Obtains and records initial assessment and establishes priorities according to patient age, symptoms, psychological and spiritual needs. Will take and record vital signs. A brief description of the patient’s complaint/condition and record this information on the patient’s chart.

Will assist, when directed in performing phlebotomy tests, EKGs, urinalysis, injections and administer and monitor IV solutions/medications. Accompanies provider in room during patient visits Documents in EMR to include: HPI, review of systems, physical exam findings, diagnostic assessment, and plan of care Documents results of laboratory and radiographic studies as discussed by provider Enters orders for procedures or labs as directed by provider Enters billing information as determined by type of office visit Makes comprehensive nursing decisions based on the interpretation of facts and evaluations of patient outcome. Participates in patient and significant other health education.

Documents interventions appropriate to patient needs as directed by providers. Utilizes infection control measures appropriately. Delegates work assignments appropriately to ensure completion of required patient care and make adjustments based on patient volume and provider needs.

Assumes accountability for continual education enhancement. Participates in orientation of new staff/students in the clinic. Maintains competency for operation of all clinic equipment.

Participates in annual hospital and clinic proficiencies when applicable. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Maintains a neat, organized and safe environment for patients and staff.

Assists in monthly duties as assigned. Coordinates the medical plan of care for their patients.

Required

Qualifications

Currently licensed in the State of Illinois. Maintains Basic Life Support Certification. Part Time or Full Time: Full Time Anticipated
