About this role
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry & Urology unit, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a valid NH or compact RN license for a 13-week night shift assignment. Work is performed on a 48-bed Med/Surg unit (E200) with an average census of 27 patients. Patient population includes medical/surgical, telemetry, and urology cases, including postoperative patients. Shift hours are 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (12-hour nights), with every other weekend required. Travelers float to like Med/Surg Telemetry units (D1, F2) and are generally prioritized for floating over staff.
Requirements
Active NH or compact RN license required
Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for telemetry RNs
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg or telemetry RN experience required
Proficiency in head-to-toe assessment and orthopedic care
Experience with IV medication administration including Lasix drip, heparin drip, IVP metoprolol, diltiazem, and insulin (IV and SubQ)
Wound care experience including drain management and wound VACs
Experience with NGT/G-tube care, parenteral nutrition, and central line management (PICC, HD catheter, midlines)
