The Endoscopy Department at North Alabama Medical Center provides high-quality, patient-centered diagnostic and therapeutic services in a safe and compassionate environment. The team of experienced physicians, nurses, and support staff uses advanced technology to perform a wide range of procedure including screening, diagnostic, interventional endoscopy gastrointestinal and lung procedures. With a strong focus on patient comfort, safety, and timely care, the department plays a vital role in early detection, treatment, and ongoing management of digestive health conditions.

How you’ll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role

Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.

Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.

What we’re looking for

Associate’s degree in nursing required; bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred Nursing License Some Endoscopy experience preferred BCLS and ACLS are required PALS, and Handle with Care preferred; must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
