Pre-Operative / PACU Registered Nurse

_*What You'll Do*_

As a PACU / Pre-Op RN, you will provide nursing care to patients before and after spine and pain procedures and work closely with our surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, and other members of the surgical team.

Responsibilities include

• Providing pre-operative nursing assessment and patient preparation
• Reviewing medical history, medications, allergies, labs, and required clearances
• Starting IVs and preparing patients for anesthesia and surgery
• Providing patient and family education before and after procedures
• Monitoring patients throughout Phase I and Phase II recovery
• Assessing airway, respiratory status, pain, nausea, neurological status, and overall recovery
• Administering medications and treatments as ordered
• Recognizing changes in patient condition and responding appropriately
• Completing accurate and timely documentation in our *electronic medical record (EMR) system*
• Communicating effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other clinical staff
• Maintaining patient safety and following infection-prevention and AAAHC standards
• Assisting with patient flow to keep the surgical day running safely and efficiently
• Supporting teammates throughout the ASC as needed

While this position will primarily focus on *Pre-Op and PACU*, we strongly value cross-training.

We are looking for someone who is *interested in learning additional RN roles within the ASC*, including other aspects of perioperative nursing. You do not need to know every role when you start—we are looking for someone who is motivated to learn, willing to help, and wants to become a well-rounded member of our surgical team.

_*What We're Looking For*_

• Current Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Previous *PACU and/or Pre-Op nursing experience*
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS certification preferred/required based on facility policy
• Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and technology
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Dependable, flexible, and willing to help wherever needed
• Positive attitude and strong team mentality
• Interest in learning additional ASC nursing roles
• Spine, orthopedic, neurosurgery, pain management, or ambulatory surgery experience is a plus
