  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth.
  • Administer medications and injections accurately following aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Perform specialized procedures including IV infusion, catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, and ventilator management in accordance with clinical protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for patients in settings like ICU, trauma centers, or hospice & palliative medicine units.
  • Provide emergency response and critical care support in high-pressure environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or emergency rooms; manage airway, acute pain, and trauma medicine cases effectively.
  • Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection, processing, ICD coding for documentation accuracy, and interpreting physiology knowledge for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families on health coaching topics such as geriatrics, dementia care, medication management, discharge planning, and post-acute care needs.

*Skills*

  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth for efficient medical documentation and records management.
  • Strong clinical skills in areas such as ICU experience, cardiac catheterization support, infectious disease care, and trauma medicine.
  • Knowledge of advanced nursing procedures including Ostomy care, Hoyer lift operation, sterile processing techniques, and neonatal resuscitation procedures.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics (including toddler care), geriatrics (memory care), individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized nursing interventions.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to internal medicine, surgical procedures (e.g., suturing), laboratory testing (e.g., ICD-10/ICD-9 coding), and critical care protocols.
  • Ability to perform patient assessments involving vital signs monitoring, airway management, specimen collection/processing, and infection control practices.
  • Excellent communication skills for triage situations in urgent care or outpatient settings; capable of providing clear instructions on medication administration and health coaching.
