We are seeking a compassionate, driven, and experienced Skilled Unit Manager to join our leadership team. In this role, you will oversee the daily clinical operations of an assigned unit while leading and supporting a dedicated nursing team committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

What You’ll Do Leadership & Operations Lead and oversee 24-hour nursing operations for an assigned unit. Supervise, mentor, and support licensed nurses and nursing assistants. Promote a positive team culture focused on compassion, accountability, and excellence.

Ensure compliance with facility policies, clinical standards, and state/federal regulations. Collaborate with physicians, pharmacy, therapy, laboratory, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care. Conduct staff meetings, provide education, and support ongoing employee development.
Assist with staffing coordination to ensure quality patient care and operational efficiency. Address employee, patient, and family concerns professionally and promptly. Clinical Responsibilities Perform ongoing patient assessments and monitor changes in condition.
Ensure accurate and timely nursing documentation and care planning. Oversee medication administration and treatment compliance according to physician orders and standards of practice. Participate in physician rounds and interdisciplinary care conferences.
Investigate incidents, accidents, and concerns while ensuring proper follow-up and reporting. Conduct routine rounds to evaluate patient care quality and staff performance. Ensure clinical equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
Support and participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Current and active RN or LPN license in good standing. Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to lead with professionalism, empathy, and accountability. Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred. Passion for patient-centered care and team development. Current nursing license in good standing with the Virginia Department of Health Professions. Two years of nursing management in acute/post-acute or urgent care, preferred. Demonstrates excellent clinical, customer service and leadership skills. Current CPR Healthcare Provider certification.
