Current Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 12 months.
Certification
Additional certifications such as PICC line within one year for ambulatory nurses.
Experience
Experience or training in specialty areas (e.g., Pediatrics, NICU, Emergency, Oncology) is preferred.

Experience with electronic medical records and coursework in EKG are advantageous.

Overview

Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients and families, acting as the primary caregiver, resource nurse, and preceptor. Delegates tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and nursing assistive personnel, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies. Utilizes the nursing process to deliver safe, quality care, administers medications, and supervises staff competency. Takes charge duties as assigned and incorporates organizational values into practice.

Key Responsibilities

Practices professional nursing and delegates tasks appropriately. Performs nursing procedures requiring judgment and skill. Provides patient education and verifies staff competency. Ensures quality and safety of nursing care delivered. Serves as a resource, preceptor, and takes charge when needed. Maintains clinical expertise to support patient care and unit functions. Performs administrative duties and adheres to organizational values.

Qualifications & Skills

Graduate from an accredited nursing school. Valid Registered Nurse license in Hawaii. Current Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 12 months.
