American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a night shift teaching hospital assignment requiring PALS certification and at least 1 year of PICU experience.

Pediatric ICU (PICU) unit within a teaching hospital setting
Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30), with 3x12 or 4x12 travelers accepted
1:2 patient ratio
Epic charting system preferred
Required to work every other weekend
Floating required
Bi-weekly orientations
Requirements
Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand
BLS and PALS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required (2 years highly preferred)
Trauma Level I experience preferred
Teaching hospital, community hospital, and LTAC experience preferred
Charge nurse experience preferred
Proficiency in respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and GI patient care skills as detailed for PICU population
Experience with ventilator management, arterial line management, and pediatric dosage calculations preferred
1 supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients including respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and GI support
Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/31-3/31) with no exemptions

RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate
Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must disclose employment history and must not have been a permanent employee within the past 6 months
Up to three absences allowed per 13-week contract; excessive tardiness or no call/no show may result in contract review
