About this role

The Postpartum Unit at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis is a 44-bed unit with a Level 1 Newborn Nursery, serving a diverse patient population in one of the state's largest birth centers. Provides care to the obstetrics patients and their families during the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum period. Includes comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs, establishing the plan of care, supervising progress, and modification of the plan of care as needed. Incorporates evidence-based nursing practice. 12-hour day/night shifts with every 3rd weekend rotation. .75 FTE (60 hours per two-week pay period).

Requirements

Associate's or Vocational degree (Required)
Bachelor's degree (Preferred)
Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire
BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation certification required within 4 months
RN-C in related specialty (Preferred)
1 year of Labor and Delivery experience (Preferred)
Tier 1: 6+ months current RN experience in Abbott NW Postpartum unit
