Responsibilities
MedSurg RNs provide bedside care for a variety of patients and conduct individualized assessments to develop tailored care plans. They prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments. Key duties include:
- Preparing, administering, and documenting prescribed medications
- Responding promptly to adverse symptoms with alternative actions
- Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs as needed
