Position Description
Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates care for breastfeeding mothers. Responsible to the mothers she sees to provide the most accurate up-to-date information and appropriate assistance. Also responsible for educating the health-care providers to meet the needs of breastfeeding mothers throughout the organization. Furthermore, evaluates products related to lactation and share her evaluation with others.
Qualifications
- Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Louisiana, with at least 3-5 years' experience as a maternal-child nurse in which good performance has been demonstrated.
- Demonstrate leadership skills.
- Prefer 4,000 breastfeeding consultancy practice hours.
- Prefer BSN degree or enrollment in a Bachelor's program.
- Board certification eligibility within the 1st year employment.
