About this role
Regions Behavioral Hospital is hiring a full-time day shift RN for our inpatient unit. 7a to 7p, Baton Rouge.
Here is the actual work.
You will carry a caseload on the inpatient psychiatric unit — assessment, monitoring, documentation. Admissions come through at all hours, so intake is a real part of the day: getting orders in, getting someone settled who may have arrived frightened and not by their own plan.
Day shift means you are in the building when the treatment team is. Rounds, group schedules, family calls, discharge planning. You will be the clinical judgment in the room when a unit needs one, and you will hand off to nights with a clear picture.
Medical physician monitoring runs alongside the psychiatric care.
What we are looking for: a current Louisiana RN license. Behavioral health experience helps but is not required. Plenty of good psychiatric nurses came from med-surg or the ED. What matters more is whether you can stay steady and clear with a person who is not at their best.
We are locally owned. Decisions get made in this building, by people you will actually see.
