Travel RN - Neonatal ICU

Details Work in a Level III NICU caring for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above, including infants under 24-28 weeks Provide care for respiratory distress, glucose management, and neonates requiring surgical or cardiac interventions Manage ventilator settings including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP modes Perform arterial line management, central line care, and UAC/UVC catheter management Administer IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids via Pyxis medication system Document patient care using the EPIC system Utilize SBAR communication method with healthcare team and families Manage neonatal abstinence syndrome interventions and gastrointestinal feeding methods including oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube placement Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM Typical patient ratio of 1:2-3 Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Current BLS and NRP certifications required Minimum 1 year of NICU experience required Level III or Level IV NICU setting experience required Competency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management required Proficiency in infection control measures, isolation precautions, and PPE required Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second acceptable from a Charge RN (no coworker references accepted) Additional Information Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including NPs, interpretation services, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory services, social services, and unit secretary Facility supports all necessary equipment, supplies, and patient care policies for NICU procedures Locals are accepted at the same rate RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once away from the facility for 6 months or more Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this facility Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon signing contract; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to a fingerprinting location, while those at extreme distances will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
