About this role
Memorial Community Health, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursing Services House Supervisor to provide leadership and operational oversight across nursing services at Memorial Hospital. This full-time position supports the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while promoting effective communication, collaboration, and continuity of nursing operations throughout the facility. The House Supervisor provides leadership and oversight of hospital operations during assigned shifts while serving as a clinical resource to staff throughout the organization.
In a Critical Access Hospital, this role combines operational supervision with direct patient care responsibilities to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality care across departments.

Job
Duties
Coordinate daily hospital operations during assigned shifts. Serve as the administrative representative after normal business hours. Provide leadership and decision-making during emergencies and unexpected operational situations.
Monitor patient census, patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges. Collaborate with providers and department leaders to optimize patient care and resource utilization. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, CMS Conditions of Participation, and regulatory standards.
Assist with orientation of new nursing staff. Provide just-in-time education and clinical coaching. Support annual competency validation and mandatory education.
Participate in developing educational materials and evidence-based practice initiatives. Mentor staff to promote professional growth and critical thinking. Assess staffing needs throughout the hospital and adjust assignments based on patient acuity and census.
Assist with scheduling adjustments, call ins, and staffing coverage. Support charge nurses with patient assignments and workload balancing. Serve as a resource for conflict resolution and staff support.
Promote teamwork, accountability, and effective communication across departments.

Education and/or
Experience
Graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing Associate Degree in Nursing Minimum of 3 years in acute care nursing experience. Minimum of 2 years in emergency nursing care Minimum of 2 years as charge nurse, head nurse, or house supervisor Experience with quality improvement, regulatory compliance, staff education, or performance improvement initiatives preferred Experience in Critical Access Hospital preferred.
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations
- Current Registered Nurse licensed for the State of Nebraska
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required or obtained within 90 days of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required or obtained within 90 days of hire
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NPR) required or obtained within 90 days of hire
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required or obtained within 90 days of hire
