Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Aug 31, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an ICU night shift position requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
Details Adult and geriatric Intensive Care Unit setting 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM) Every other weekend required ICU patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3 based on acuity May float to Medical-Surgical/Telemetry or similar units with ratios of 1:4-6 Unit is connected to the PCU and may float within scope to PCU, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units Uses Epic charting system Block scheduling is not accommodated Requirements Active NJ or Compact RN license required Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required Required

ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS Stroke CEUs preferred Epic charting experience required Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care/management, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, and suctioning (ETT, NT) Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required Experience accessing/managing ports and post cardiac surgery care preferred Two current professional references required Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to adult and geriatric ICU patients Must float within skillset to PCU, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units based on facility needs Navy blue scrubs required Must be available to work 2 of 3 designated holidays All time off and schedule requests must be submitted prior to the start of the assignment; changes after start date will not be accommodated First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before becoming eligible for this travel assignment
