Certified Nursing Assistant

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring timely documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
• Support medication administration under supervision, adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to maintain patient safety.
• Provide specialized care for individuals with complex needs such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, memory care requirements, or behavioral health challenges.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in various settings—including hospitals (Level I Trauma Center experience), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, and home care—to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Assist with medical procedures like phlebotomy or catheter care when trained and authorized.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocols for infectious disease care and ensuring proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

*Requirements*

• Valid CNA certification in good standing; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are preferred.
• Prior experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities; experience in long-term care or hospital settings is highly valued.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques to deliver safe patient care.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as ICU or emergency medicine units; critical care experience is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage with patients requiring dementia or Alzheimer's care and to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist with patient transfers using lifts like the Hoyer lift; excellent attention to detail for vital signs monitoring and medical records management.
