Details Ambulatory infusion clinic setting with 10 infusion chairs Adult patient population (18+) with Hematology and Medical Oncology diagnoses Patient ratio of 1:5 Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (7:45–17:15), Monday through Friday with no weekend requirements No on-call requirements Float required between two clinic locations approximately 14 miles apart (20-minute drive) EMR: Epic (experience required); additional systems include Pyxis, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams Ambulatory infusion pumps used on unit Pharmacy/mixing techs handle all chemotherapy mixing Requirements Active RN license — NC or Compact state license required (may be pending at time of consideration) Current BLS certification required ONS Chemo/Bio Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card required OCN certification preferred Minimum 2 years of oncology-specific RN experience required Central line experience required Experience administering chemotherapy required Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 2 years required prior to start (pending at time of consideration is acceptable) Additional Information Responsible for administering chemotherapy and biotherapy infusions to adult oncology patients in an outpatient setting Orientation consists of approximately 8 hours of unit orientation (varies by skill level) plus a week of hospital orientation; availability required for all orientation classes Pre-assignment modules must be completed prior to start and are conducted via online learning, Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes Pre-shift COVID screening required per facility policy Candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved, provided it does not fall on a holiday; RTO is not permitted during the first week of assignment (orientation); requests beyond 7 days require facility approval Former permanent, PRN, or extended placement employees of this health system must wait 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted Navy blue scrubs required; scrubs are not provided First-time travelers are welcome to apply Travel pairs are permitted; each traveler must have their own transportation and be comfortable with potentially different schedules
