About this role

A community services organization in New York City is actively seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing residential facility in the Bronx, providing crucial nursing support and care to children and staff.

About the Opportunity

Schedule

Monday to Friday

  • Hours: 12pm to 8pm or 1pm to 9pm or 2pm to 10pm or 3pm to 11pm
  • Setting: OPWDD residential facility

Responsibilities

  • Delivering direct nursing care to children on the residential floors
  • Monitoring student health status and responding to medical issues
  • Supporting school staff with health documentation and compliance audits
  • Communicating with families and interdisciplinary teams
  • Administering emergency medications as needed
  • Performing other duties, as needed

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience working with people with Intellectual / Developmental Disabilities
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Able to work independently
  • Strong communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Compassionate and flexible

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Experience in OPWDD or special education settings
  • Pediatric Nursing experience
