Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rapid triage assessments, identify acuity using ESI (or equivalent), and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate patient responses.
• Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies; manage central lines and peripheral access per policy.
• Provide advanced emergency care including airway support, cardiac monitoring, defibrillation, procedural sedation support, and trauma/resuscitation participation.
• Interpret and respond to vital signs, labs, EKGs, and imaging results; communicate changes promptly to the provider team.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient/family education accurately in the electronic health record.
• Coordinate patient flow including admissions, transfers, and discharges; ensure clear discharge instructions and follow-up.
• Maintain infection prevention practices, safety checks, and compliance with regulatory and departmental standards.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN required; BSN preferred).
• Current BLS (AHA) required.
• ACLS required within designated timeframe (preferred upon hire).
• PALS and TNCC (or ENPC) required within designated timeframe (preferred upon hire).
• Minimum 1 year of acute care or Emergency Department RN experience preferred; new graduates may be considered with appropriate clinical preparation and residency participation.
• Strong critical thinking, de-escalation skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
• Ability to lift/transfer patients and perform repetitive standing/walking; must meet physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.

Schedule & Environment

Shift-based position including nights, weekends, holidays.

Pay: $45.00 - $71.00 per hour
