03107 RN-Clinic FLSA: Non-exempt This position coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, acts as a patient advocate and works as part of a team with ancillary and non-nursing departments. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation. Assesses the patient's condition and nursing care needs. Sets goals and prescribes appropriate nursing interventions to meet physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of patients. Develops individual nursing care plans. Implements care plans and makes revisions as needed. Evaluates patient care outcomes. Collaborates with physicians and other hospital employees. Administers medications, treatments and therapies. Communicates with patients and oversees provision of care. Provides patients and/or family with instruction and education relevant to condition. Accurately documents nursing observations, assessments, medications, treatments, and other care given. Additional Information Maintains facility equipment, supplies and work areas. Assists in the orientation of new employees. Coordinates and supervises activities of employees and department operations. Participates in performance/process improvement activities. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience: 1 year or less Certifications: BCLS upon completion of hospital orientation; ACLS and PALS within six months of hire or transfer date to position. Licenses: Current RN license in state of practice Skills And Abilities Ability to understand, communicate, and react effectively to patient and family needs.
