Registered Nurse (RN) – Ketamine Treatment

Required Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), or higher nursing degree

• Excellent bedside manner and interpersonal skills

• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills

• Reliable transportation

• Comfortable supporting and monitoring patients during treatment sessions that may last up to two hours

• Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and appropriately escalate concerns to the prescribing provider or clinical team

• Experience with mental health, ketamine treatment, esketamine, interventional psychiatry, or psychedelic-assisted treatment is strongly preferred

• Residence within approximately 30 miles of Coastal Turning Point is preferred

Responsibilities

• Support approximately 1–12 ketamine/esketamine treatment sessions per day , depending on patient volume and scheduling

• Administer intramuscular (IM) ketamine injections in accordance with provider orders, established protocols, and scope of practice

• Assist with the administration and monitoring of esketamine treatment in accordance with applicable clinical protocols and requirements

• Complete pre-treatment screening and confirm patient readiness for treatment

• Obtain and document vital signs before treatment and at appropriate intervals during and after treatment

• Screen patients for relevant symptoms and treatment considerations, including nausea, dizziness, motion sickness, or other concerns

• Monitor patients throughout treatment and recovery for therapeutic response, side effects, changes in vital signs, or other clinical concerns

• Provide a calm, supportive, and professional presence for patients throughout their treatment experience

• Escalate clinical concerns or changes in patient condition to the prescribing provider or appropriate clinical team member

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

• Update controlled-substance records and logs in accordance with practice policies and applicable requirements

• Communicate and collaborate with the ketamine treatment team regarding scheduling, provider-directed dose changes, patient response, and other treatment-related needs

• Follow established medication administration, safety, emergency, and patient-monitoring protocols

• Help ensure patients are clinically appropriate for discharge following treatment in accordance with established protocols

Pay: $50.00 per hour
