Infusion Nurse

• Assess patient conditions before, during, and after infusion therapy to monitor for adverse reactions or complications

• Educate patients about their infusion treatments, including potential side effects and post-care instructions

• Maintain detailed and compliant medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, pharmacists, and case managers to coordinate care plans

• Ensure strict adherence to infection control standards and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and safety

• Assist with specialized procedures such as catheter care, venipuncture, tube feeding management, and sterile processing when necessary

Experience

• Proven experience working as an infusion nurse or in related settings such as hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or home care environments

• Strong background in IV insertion, aseptic technique, and medication administration across diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities

• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and patient record management

• Critical care experience preferred—particularly ICU or emergency room settings—demonstrating ability to handle acute situations efficiently

• Knowledge of complex therapies including botulinum toxin treatment for ophthalmology or neurological conditions is a plus

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs is advantageous

• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are beneficial
