About this role

We're looking for a Hemodialysis RN to deliver safe, high-quality chronic dialysis care under the direction of the Unit Medical Director, in compliance with facility, state, and federal standards.

Position

Responsibilities

Patient Care

Initiate, monitor, and discontinue hemodialysis treatments; assess patients pre- and post-treatment Perform access care and dialyze isolation patients using proper precautions Administer and document medications per physician orders and within RN scope of practice Recognize and report dialysis and non-dialysis-related problems promptly Obtain blood samples and initiate/discontinue blood transfusions per policy Develop and update individualized nursing care plans Provide patient and family education as opportunities arise Maintain a safe environment using proper body mechanics, universal precautions, and infection control

Operations & Equipment

  • Operate, sanitize, and maintain dialysis and water treatment equipment per policy
  • Assist with supply ordering, inventory management, and unit organization
  • Report equipment malfunctions and supply issues promptly

Team & Administration

  • Communicate effectively with physicians, coordinators, patients, and families
  • Assist in orienting and training new staff
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and CQI projects
  • Support scheduling and adequate unit coverage as needed

Requirements

  • Active RN license per state requirements
  • Knowledge of ESRD and hemodialysis procedures
  • Commitment to ongoing clinical education and professional development
