Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for medical-surgical telemetry patients and ED holds as assigned within the float pool.
- Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vitals and telemetry, administer medications, and manage IV therapy.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the Cerner EMR; provide accurate and timely handoffs.
- Recognize and respond to clinical changes, initiate appropriate escalation, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe patient care.
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and patient education; support efficient unit throughput and orderly discharges when appropriate.
Requirements
- Active RN license in New Jersey or a Compact state; license must be valid at time of submission.
Certifications
ACLS, BLS, NIH (as listed in job notes).
- Minimum 2+ years of recent MST/telemetry experience.
- Proficient with Cerner EMR.
- Flu vaccination required (no declinations accepted).
- Ability to float between MST units and ED holds; comfortable working nights and supporting every other weekend and every other holiday.
- Scrub color: navy blue (assignment detail).
