Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult patients on PCU/IMCU with cardiac conditions, including monitoring and bedside assessments.
- Maintain continuous telemetry monitoring, interpret rhythm strips, and respond to arrhythmias per protocol.
- Administer prescribed medications and cardiac infusions (Milrinone, Dobutamine, vasopressors) as ordered, while observing for adverse effects.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans; coordinate with the float pool to ensure unit staffing needs are met.
- Document all care in Epic EMR, ensure accurate handoffs, and uphold patient safety and quality standards.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions; support smooth transitions of care.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Georgia
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar-sized facility or cardiac/telemetry unit
- EPIC EMR experience
- Ability and willingness to float to PCU/IMCU floors as needed
