Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care on the Geropsychiatric Unit, including assessments, monitoring, and documentation of patient conditions
  • Maintain accurate patient reports and medical histories; perform mental and physical assessments
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor effects and report changes
  • Assist patients with daily activities; observe and document reactions to interventions
  • Manage activities within the therapeutic milieu, including daily groups, education, and 1:1 interactions
  • Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary treatment team to complete individualized treatment plans and coordinate nursing care
  • Plan, implement, and coordinate nursing care activities for patients; support discharge planning and accurate admission histories
  • Complete required documentation (admission paperwork, assessments, progress notes, discharge paperwork) in a timely, accurate manner

Requirements

Valid State of New Hampshire RN license; BLS certification required

Education

2-year Associate degree or diploma from a nursing program required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience

1 year of nursing experience preferred

Skills

Medical terminology proficiency; strong mathematical, analytical, written and verbal communication abilities

  • Practice setting: Ability to work night shifts in an inpatient geropsychiatric unit
