The job acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. The job responsibilities include effectively delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members, assuming accountability for quality patient outcomes, maintaining involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and department’s strategic goals, and demonstrating professional responsibility. The employee must maintain knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensure compliance with all such laws, regulations, and standards.
