Key Highlights • Weekly pay: $2,035-$2,195 per week • Guaranteed hours: None • Start date: 06/15/2026 • Duration: Weeks (travel assignment) • Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts • Setting: High-acuity step-down unit in a hospital with 29 beds on the unit Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care for adults on a high-acuity step-down unit, with responsibilities including ventilator care and management of ventilator alarms in collaboration with Respiratory Therapy • Titrate vasopressors and sedation, and manage IV insulin drips per physician orders • Monitor arterial lines, interpret ABGs, manage dysrhythmias, and be prepared for chest tube management or external pacemaker familiarity as needed • Assess and respond to patient changes, coordinate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response) to optimize care • Troubleshoot and troubleshoot RT-managed ventilators and alarms; maintain documentation in the charting system (Epic) and ensure accurate, timely communication during handoffs • Float within scope to lower-acuity floors as required; weekend coverage includes two shifts every other weekend (rotation-dependent) Requirements • Active RN license in Missouri; Illinois license in hand required at submission (per state rules) or eligibility per MO guidelines; ensure license type matches permanent residence for compact licensure Certifications: ACLS, BCLS/BLS, NIHSS Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience; travel experience required; must have been at bedside within the last 6 months; trauma Level II experience required • Clinical skills: Ventilator care and management, vasopressor and sedation titration, insulin drip management, arterial line care, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation • Unit-specific: Able to work in a 29-bed high-acuity step-down environment, with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio • Scheduling restrictions: Locals within 75 miles are not considered; weekend shifts are required every other weekend (for nights) • Additional: You must be able to perform required hard-stop clinical skills and participate in 24-hour orientation Benefits and Support • 24-hour unit orientation (24 hours) to acclimate to unit specifics and protocols • Interdisciplinary support on the unit (Respiratory Therapy, PT, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response) • Access to ongoing credentialing and onboarding coordination through the staffing organization • Dedicated travel and assignment support throughout the engagement Find more opportunities If you’re interested in other travel nursing openings, you can view additional opportunities at the Hiring Organization URL: https://healthforce.applytojob.com/apply Please note: Pay rates and guaranteed hours are estimates and may vary.
