Responsibilities
As a Hospice On-Call RN, you will
- Respond to after-hours patient and family needs
- Perform nursing assessments and symptom management visits
- Provide compassionate end-of-life care and support
- Address urgent clinical concerns and changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and interdisciplinary team members
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding symptom management and comfort-focused care
- Complete timely and accurate electronic documentation
- Facilitate hospice admissions when appropriate
- Participate in after-hours call coverage and triage
- Ensure exceptional patient care that honors each patient's goals, dignity, and comfort
Qualifications
- Current Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Hospice experience preferred but not required
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
- Experience with electronic medical records and mobile technology
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
