Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care in the OR, including preop assessment, intraoperative monitoring, sterile technique, instrument handling, and post-anesthesia care.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, scrub techs, and other OR staff to maintain patient safety and efficient case flow.
- Assist with DaVinci robotic procedures; ensure proper setup, patient positioning, instrument management, and intraoperative vigilance.
- Document care in Cerner EMR, ensuring accurate operative notes, implants, counts, and postoperative plans.
- Monitor patient status and respond to intraoperative changes; participate in call duties as scheduled, including one weekend call every 5–6 weeks and Friday call rotation.
- Maintain compliance with BLS, ACLS, and PALS requirements; follow department protocols and safety standards.
Requirements
- Current RN license in California (or eligible per licensure rules for practice in CA).
Certifications
BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
- DaVinci robotic experience required; Cerner EMR experience required; Epic EMR experience preferred.
Education
Graduation from an accredited RN program; active RN credential.
- Ability to work in a short-term acute care hospital OR setting and meet the shift and call requirements.
