Job Title: Registered Nurse - Preoperative Care

This position is PRN.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Preoperative Care team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort before surgery. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preoperative assessments and evaluations of patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the surgical team.
  • Educate patients and their families about the surgical process, preoperative instructions, and postoperative care.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and overall health status prior to surgery.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
  • Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including the management of preoperative documentation.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Previous experience in preoperative or surgical nursing is an advantage.
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
  • Requires regular and predictable attendance.
